Title: Cable lift system fix
Post by: Hoosierdaddy on Aug 27, 2006, 08:50 AM
Hi, Board members. I have recently bought a Camplite Pop-up and the cable on the lift system is broken. Is this something that can be fixed relatively easy at home or does this require taking the camper to the shop for a fix? Camplite is no longer so, it's been hard to find any info on this fix. Any and all input is greetly appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

Mike ~ I suspect that your Camplite has a Goshen lift system.

If you are handy you will be able to fix it yourself.  Check out the lift system info fly posted.  If you are not sure about certain aspects and have specific questions ask away.  Good luck on the repair job.:)

The Goshen lift system is really easy to repair.  I replaced the main cable system underneath my 90 Flagstaff last year.  It's a simple system of cables and lift springs in the corner tubes.  Remove a few screws and the system comes apart.  The parts are relatively cheap, too.  If you are any kind of handyman, I would suggest doing it yourself.  I only spent a little over $30 for the cable, a spring, and some brackets.  Call them direct.  It is a lot cheaper than going through a 3 party reseller.

Good luck.
