Title: BAD bad Weather here
Post by: Billy Bob on Oct 12, 2006, 04:55 PM
It's only Oct 12 but it's been snowing here for about 4 hours and now it's starting to add up. Got about 2" so far and it hasn't stopped.

You can keep the snow where you live.  We don't want no stinking snow in PA.:)

Austin/Boston.........How right you are something is very wrong...... :(  But just think how great it will be when you get those arms around that little girl....In the mean time guess you can make smores in the fireplace......Keep warm and also keep that snow where it belongs.......AT YOUR HOUSE........

Austin, You should really think about moving down south. As you get older the cold will get worse, much worse......

I would rather freeze to death than put up with heat & humidity.  Unfortunately, here in Minneapolis/St. Paul, I have to put up with BOTH. :(

The main glue holding us here is DS is in High School.  We pulled him out of school to move here, and have committed to not ripping him out again until he graduates in 2008.  So until then, I feel I can legitemately complain about the cold (and the heat).

I'll take the SNOW!!!
Camping is over for us, Hiking at this time is taking your life in your hands as it's hunting season, paddling is nearing the end of the season, so give me the snow and I'll start waxing my Nordic Skis!!! Maybe it will be a better snow year than last year. Had to drive two hours just to find snow! Imagine THAT here in Vermont!!!

I am glad that I winterized the water system in the PU Monday when I was packing up to come home from a camping trip.  I would not have had time this week to get it done and it has been below freezing the last two nights.  Down to 25 here last night.  I guess I am going to have to think about turning the heat on soon.:(

Araphoe Basin Ski Resort in Colorado IS OPEN as of yesterday!   :#
Now, if they're open for skiing already, imagine the amount of snow we've been getting in our great Colorado Rockies! :p
Denver's got perfect fall weather now, crisp fresh cool air, vibrant fall colors everywhere, sunshine.  But the snow is coming!!!  It's winter in the mountains...  :frosty:

Well, I've been saying for about a week that the snow's coming. IT'S HERE! :frosty:

It's been a constant slushy snow since about 9am MST and hasn't let up!  Looking outside my 6th floor office, I see quite a bit of the white stuff accumulating.  It's going to be real fun driving home tonight.  I sure hope the airplane is in the hangar since I'm flying tomorrow morning, if I can get to the airport. ;)  Thank god my pop-up is winterized and in storage.  Counting down the days when I can use it again.

The only real good thing about all this white stuff, SKIING IS HERE!  :#   Most resorts will be open in three weeks, with one already opened.

For anyone interested (all you Coloradans, especially) the Colorado RV show is in January.  I'll keep everyone posted on dates.  Maybe we can remedy our winter blues by having a get-together then.

UPDATE:  2"-4" snow already.  Expecting another couple inches.  Mountains expecting 12"-14".  I-70 closed due to a truck rollover and poor visibility.  VERY LOW VISIBILITY.   Don't know how I'll get home (I get off of work at 10:00pmMST).  VERY SLOWLY!  Roads not that bad, just can't see two feet ahead.  Snow continuing through the night and into the morning, tapering off in the afternoon.  NOT a good day to fly!

(Boy, don't I sound like a weather reporter?  Think I'll sleep in and do some quilting tomorrow.)
