not bad, not bad... would save the space and hassle of heaving the concrete/flower pots.

negatives I foresee and difficulty in screwing it into hard ground and, most importantly, if enough people use these...tearing the heck out of the campsite area.

Don't need that with my awning, but I think I'll get at least one of them for my Beach Umbrella....

When the ground is hard just pour some water in the area first. Works all the time even when pounding in stakes.
