Title: Dangers of group camping
Post by: JimQPublic on Oct 23, 2006, 06:04 PM
Normally we just go camping as a family, not a group.  After spending a great weekend with SCCAMPERS in Temecula I have to say that group camping has many drawbacks:

1:  You'll have such a good time that you beg to be put on the list for the next campout.  Thanks Dee- see you at Campland next month.

2:  You'll be so fascinated by other campers gear that you have to copy them.  Thanks Griffsmom & Moose.  I just ordered a Campmate Kitchen from LLBean.

3:  You'll enjoy talking dutch ovens so much that you sign up for the next DOG (Dutch Oven Gathering).  Thanks Moose.  I'll see you at Doheny on Jan 19.  Site 50.

4:  You'll enjoy the company and potluck food and drink that you overindulge and feel yucky the next morning.  Nobody's fault but my own but golly gee two DO desserts!  (Okay, okay, it was really too much wine but I say the desserts did it!)

5:  You'll realize that $65 isn't too much per night for camping with a great group, even though the campground is dusty, the roads potholed, the pool unheated, the restrooms falling apart, and the rest of the campground is inhabited by the cast of Mad Max and all their machines.

See you next time!

And you run the danger of someone trying to take your extra site because they can't keep their numbers straight!  Thanks PopUpMomma for pointing out that it was your site, and I was a few sites over!  LOL  What a way to start my weekend!

The cast of Mad Max -- best description I've heard yet!

We need our trailer signs next time!  I didn't know who people were.  Jim was right behind us, but I didn't know who he was!
