Title: Cookies
Post by: wynot on Nov 15, 2006, 03:01 PM
I don't know what is being tracked through Bradshaw Consulting's cookies, but it is causing my browser's server to absolutely slow to a crawl.

The cookies are set by the user :D   We had some trouble yesterday but it is clearing up now.

We apologize for any problems this might have caused you.

This website is so pathetically slow that I can hardly stand to mess with it. I, for one, am about to give up.

I just deleted all my cookies, which seemed to help.

Time will tell.  Things were moving pretty slow.

It's blazing fast for me now, like I haven't seen it in quite some time.  The site was down completely for a while this afternoon (CT).

It took me about 10 attempts to post this message.

I keep getting, "The page cannot be displayed".

WOW!! 30 minutes after I posted this, the site is working the best I have seen.

A BIG THANKS to whoever fixed it. :D

DREADFUL performance.

It has always been the slowest site... but I have not visited in 2 weeks.

Today, it has taken about an hour to read 8 threads and post 2 replies.  Every mouse click takes a minimum of 30 seconds to load.

When I try to click a link or reply, 80% of the time I get "Firefox cannot establish a connection to www.arveeclub.com".

I've checked with IE at the same time - and it cannot connect either.  Rebooted my PC, router, switch.  Flushed my DNS cache.  Nothing helps.

If I get a reply screen, I make sure I copy my reply to Notepad for WHEN the arveeclub stops responding :(

(3 mbit DSL link at home, no other websites have performance problems at this moment).

I've flushed my cookies, dipped them in milk, fed them to the dogs - didn't help...

I then clicked on 6 new threads to "open in a new tab" and walked away.  I kept checking on it.  I made a grilled cheese sandwich before they opened.  Note, when they did, they all opened at once.

It seems to be going up & down.

Right after I posted the big "THANKS", performance went to zero. I am just now able to get in again.

My experience is exactly the same as yours. It seems like, if there is more than 2 people on the site at once, it goes right in the toilet. JMO.

The reason why the site is running slowly at times is because we are working on the issue.  The problem will be solved soon and I will keep posting updates.

There's nothing like taking away a junkie's fix to get him all riled up!  :D  Thanks for fixing the problem.  The DTs (down times) were killing me!! ;)

Are we fixed now?  It was completely down earlier tonight and now it is back and seem to be working OK.
