Hey all!
Well don't ask how I came across this gem on eBay... it is the wierdest thing I have ever seen, and only God and the person who built it knows WHY it was built. Check out item # 130058164996 here:

Any ideas what this thing was created for? I also have this urge to place a bid on it... LOL!
WOW that is unique. I think I will pass on it. It is really hard to pass it up, but with the holidays...:D
It doesn't appear to be able to pop up.
Good Dope
I love the opening lines of his description...
"Here it is! I am not sure what "it" actually is but when I saw it I had to have it.......when my wife saw it I had to get rid of it, my horrific loss is your gain."
Austin
I cant believe people are actually bidding on that thing!! If i brought that thing home my wife would probably throw me out and i would be living in that........
WOW! And there are actuatly BIDS on it! It brings the D.C. snipers to mind.....
I'm speechless.................. :eyecrazy:
All indications are that about ANYTHING outlandish posted for sale on eBay will provide a buyer. Anything, except maybe some regular thing that you want to sell for a fair price ... then nobody will bid on it!
Fly
You know, I think I know what this was/is. I think it was a mobile command center for wilderness search/rescue operations. My reasons:
1) It's a Crown Vic, i.e. police car.
2) Lots of radio capability. Original juristiction would have removed the government radios (police, fire, etc.) and replaced them with cb/stereos (or more likely, a subsequent owner replaced them) when they got rid of it.
3) That desk - I could see some Civil Defense type sitting there trying to keep track of who had searched where and where the search teams are now.
Beyond that, it's "just a feeling". Somebody put some time and a little money into making it what it is.
What would I do with it? Sell it on eBay, of course.

:yikes:
Is Nolensville, Tennessee near a leaking nuclear reactor? Drugs? Alcohol?
Actually, Nolensville is within a stone's throw of Nashville. Maybe that thing was used to bust illegal stills in the eastern part of the state.
Here is what convinced me that I should get it.
"On the Passenger side directly across from the Glove Box Compartment is a removable panel that covers the custom enclosure for that Air Craft Battery I mentioned earlier, it is a nice enclosusure, does not move around and the lid is secured by a bungee cord that I will include in this sale."
He is including a bungee cord in the sale!:D
This part is even better.
"it does have 2 custom made pillows made out of the same material the curtains are made of, they are filled with...........................leaves and sticks................."

It's the "Leaves" that would worry me :yikes:

Maybe you put the "pillows" in the empty space under the nice vinyl flooring.:D
That car is less than 10 miles from where I'm sitting!
FIELD TRIP!!!
Also strange is that it is in the most affluent area of the state, and one of the most affluent areas in the country!

Not to worry...it's a Crown Victoria. They'll assume you are a cop, or were a cop, or bought it from a cop, or stole it from a cop, or...oh, never mind.

OMG! OMG! You
gotta go see it and give us an update if it's as cool in person as it is in the pics.
Well unfortunately the auction was ended to sell it to the highest bidder at $168. Too bad. For the winner that is...

You missed it Rick. The price did not get to the reserve, so no winner!:)
I bet he ended it early. It ended at a time other than the original ending time, which was sometime on the 17th.

It said this on top Tracy "The seller ended this listing early to sell to the high bidder(s) at current bid price."... But I guess the winner didn't agree with that because it relisted here:

Wow I can bid on it now. My dream camper.
And a PA system to let people really know your coming! Can you imagine the things you can do with it in case you get the "road rage" urge?:D
And to think I got rid of my 1980 Chevy station wagon, the yellow/wood grain bomb (er, lemon)!
