Hello all,
My finance' and I are avid campers who just moved up from the tent world to our first popup. We just made a deal on a 1998 Flagstaff but have not taken possession yet, as they have to complete some work we requested as part of the deal. It has A/C, heat and an awning. The awning and A/C was a must for us. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with Flagstaff's? I know they are made by Forest River but have not found much info on goods or bads, especially for this year.
I also wanted to say this forum seems to have a great bunch on people on it from what I read prior to registering. Your forum has educated me on some nice to haves for a popup as well as taught me about how to properly level a popup. Thanks.
Welcome to PUT!
I hope you will be an active poster here. Good luck on the new PU.:)
Welcome! We look forward to learning from you as well!

Welcome to PUT! We bought a Flagstaff two years ago and have had no problems with it. It was a year old when we got it; and looked brand new. We were told that the original owners had traded it in on a TT, as the pop-up was just too much for them (retired couple) to deal with. Supposedly they had only used it 4 times. Anyway, I am very happy with this camper and would have no problem buying a Forest River product again.
Here is an update to my ordeal. In my original post, I stated we had just made a deal on a popup camper. I guess DEAL did not mean anything to those folks we were purchasing the camper from. After we agreed on a price and made a deal, the process was delayed because THEY did not get the camper retitled in their names when they bought it. They called to inform me DMV said it would take two weeks and asked what I wanted to do. I stated I had no problems waiting. They then contacted me three days later to inform me they had other offers on the camper and wanted me to put a deposit down. I could not believe it. I told them I would not put a deposit down and if they wanted to sell to someone else after we had already made a deal to go ahead. I did not point out to them that the process was delayed because of them, not me. Here is the kicker....they called back 5 days after that conversation to tell me they decided to honor the original agreement (voice message). I did not call them back. So, I have been actively seeking a new camper. I am looking at a 97 Starcraft Starmaster this weekend that looked promising from the description, pictures and price.
