Nah, Dave. Give it time for the dust to settle. Some of the folks posting on PUX are, uh, passionate:yikes: about this issue but, at the end of the day, I think both you and Dean will benifit. If it makes the magazine stronger, we could all profit! I hope that happens.

Dave

Good luck to you and Dean on your venture.  Nice to see two competitors willing to take a chance on each other.  Sets an example for others.

As SkippP said, let the dust settle.

It's been an "interesting" read, that's for sure.  Before I'd even seen the thread, Marcy mentioned it to me.  My comments to her were almost exactly what she posted over there.  THEN, I went and read the thread.  I hope this venture is beyond successful, because when you get right down to it - we are all part of the camping community.  It does sound like there are lots of new members more than willing to give PUT a try.  Sounds win-win to me!

I believe the tide has changed and not everyone hammered you Dave. I guess there are still some hard feelings between some people who left PUT and went to PUX and vice versa. I  think that more people like posting on both sites and want to see them both prosper. It's great that you and Dean have worked out a way to cooperate, we're all the winners because of that.

What he said.  We're all interested in the same thing ... it's nice to have options sometimes.  The Minnesota group is much more active at PUX, but PUT is still where I come to ask questions and where I've met some really wonderful non-Minnesotans (oh and AustinBoston, too ;)!)

There are still a few hard feelings, but the majority of the posts were positive to this venture. I beleive in the long run both PUX and PUT will benefit.

My mug is there!  :)  The new issue mailed yesterday from Fulton MO.

FYI - There has never been animosity between Dean and I. We've maintained a friendship over the years. He's been on the CompList for the magazine and we've spoken a number of times to compare notes about our websites, products and vendors.

We spoke at length about him selling PUT. We both knew it was a controversial move and I didn't want him to be attacked. He said he'd make it happen and I thought he was very eloquent with his comments when the mud started flinging.

Dean's a good guy and we'll do more togther in the near future, stay tuned.

Dave & Dean aren't one in the same are they?  :yikes:
Same forums, same stuff in their stores, same magazine.
Good Cop - Bad Cop - Same Cop
I'm getting suspicious.
