Title: New PU
Post by: tsnk4040 on Mar 05, 2007, 04:21 PM
My family and I picked up our 2007 Coachman Clipper 896E this weekend. We have three trips planned so far. The first is this weekend for one night. Want to try it out. This forum has been a great source of info and look forward to many happy camping trips with the family.

Congratulations on the new camper.  Is this your first PU?

Have a great time.  Take a pad and pen along to write down everything you wish you would have packed.:)

Congratulations! We are looking forward to hearing about your adventures. It is fun to hear newbies' stories, and we can also learn from your ideas.

Congrats! We picked up ours (1st PUP ever) on 2/28 and did a one night trip on Saturday about 2 hrs away.  Worked great and got me more familiar with everything.  I suggest the same for you b4 you do a real trip.  I imagine my next trip will go much faster on set-up and take-down.  No major problems. However, I did have a small screw, that anchors the tent support above the dinette slide out, come out and fall in a hard to reach spot.  After trying to fish it out with a marshmellow fork for 20 minutes, I noticed the front portion of the dinette platform could be removed with 4 srews.  Got it and put it back in.  No other problems.  Now we're ready to take the boys for spring break and we're in the process of buying the little things to permanently stock the PUP.  Man, we love the PUP!

Do a short trip and keep it simple as possible.
