Post by: Dee4j on Mar 19, 2007, 06:28 PM
just an FYI in case y'all didn't here about it. My friend had some of the recalled food in her house, she is wondering if this is why her cats were sick last week

Looks like the recalled food was all moist/wet.

Ahhh, the benefits of dried pet food :)

If you haven't tried "Flint River Ranch" dry pet food, now's a good time.  Probably the best pet food made.  We mixed it 50/50 with our dog's food (a couple years ago) and she picked out all the Flint River pieces, set them on the floor, and then ate them.....leaving the bowl sitting there with the dry that the breeder sent her home with.

Well, the internal cause has been identified, a chemical called aminopterin, which is used in some countries (but not in the U.S., to kill rats.

The same chemical is used to treat some forms of cancer.  How encouraging - not safe enough to kill rats, but safe enough to be injected into sick people.

It is still not known how it got there.
