I had the same problem. Except I had a tear in mine about 6" from the zipper  I bought some vinyl at a fabric store and used gorilla glue and cut a piece to fit on both sides and sandwiched it together. I took mine off and laid it  on my garage floor and put a couple old books on the bottom half and weighted it down with a small piece of plywood and a couple of bricks. I put plastic wrap over it first to stop it from adhering to the books and ply wood I was extra careful to make sure I spread the glue out to all the edeges evenly. That has been a month ago and It is still holding up well. I have used it three times since then and havent had any problems. It just looks like a little shaded spot on the canopy. ...Tom
