Title: Costco Golf Cart Batteries
Post by: JimS on Apr 29, 2007, 08:25 PM
Does anyone know anything about these batteries?  I looked at them and there were no specs on them.  Do they compare with the Interstate U-2200?
Thanks,
Jim

Found this from another source:
The batteries are distributed by Johnson Controls to Costco.

"JCI purchases this battery from US Battery. This is the only information they supplied to us.

US Battery Golf Cart Specs:
Amp Hour Rating: 220 ah @ the 20 hour rate
Minutes at 75 Amps: 108 (COSTCO specs it at 100)
Minutes at 25 Amps: 425
Length: 10 1/4"
Width: 7 1/8"
Height: 11 1/8"

Weight: 63 lbs

Any other questions can be answered by US battery. 1-800-695-0945

I just installed two of these batteries in series replacing a single grp 24.  I contacted US Battery and was told to properly charge them I need a charger that charges at 15.5 volts with atleast 25 amps.  I have seen chargers (Vector, Schumacher, B&D) with proper amp rating but can not find out what the voltage output is.  Anyone have any idea?  Will these 3 stage chargers be appropriate?

I have 2 of them on our 2001 Coleman Cheyenne and they have worked out great.  We have gone for 4 days w/out having to charge them even using a microwave on a 1500 watt inverter and the heater.

Not sure on the charger question, but I keep them on a cheap-o Harbor Freight float charger and it seems to work fine.  When needed we use a Coleman 1850 watt generator to charge them and it seems to work great also.
