Just got back from 5day 4night stay and set up camper to air out for a couple of days. Got home today after work and showered and when I got out , storm came throug and we lost power to house. Well, just about supper time and little ones are getting hungry DW puts things on grill (pork chops and augratin spuds in a pot) tries to close th egrill but can't because of shelf and handle on pot. I said go in the camper, DW says good idea. Cooked spuds and veggies in camper! Chops stayed on grill, opened the door to tell DW something and she says "keep thet open I can see better", I relied turn the light on. She gave me one of those looks...yeah right we have no power. Yes we do , 12 volt . Then say COOL.
IMPROVISE......Who needs local energy company. ( I do)LOL
As a slight highjack we were camping one week and from folks driving into the park several days into our vacation said that some severe thunderstorms went just south of us but never got close to the park. Since the park was dry camping and we spent the entire week at our site right on the lake we never realized the power was out at the campground and at home for 4 days. The one giant solid popcycle mess in the bottom of the freezer at home when we were unloading gave us our first indication that the power had been off quite a while while we were gone.
