Hand sanitizer is mostly alcohol also so it's very flamable.  Don't let the kids around the campfire until the sanitizer has evaporated off their skin.

When boondocking it, back in off the beaten path, and coming up from the river after (hopefully) handling and cleaning some fish (and who knows what else), I'll rinse my hands off in the river and then pour some 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol (from Wal-Mart, maybe sixty cents a pint) into my hands and give them a quick rub over; I think it works to sanitize them enough to where maybe I won't cause any kind of major epidemic! Besides, the alcohol also works good for removing pine tar off the TV, or the PU aluminum roof!

Enough alcohol applied to the throat will remove all discretion from many campers...  :p
