Title: BAL light trailer levelers for $52
Post by: austinado16 on Jul 24, 2007, 11:46 AM
Just ordered one from RV Parts Center in Riverside, CA.  It was $51.84 plus UPS shipping and that was the best price I've found so far.  I called them directly.

BAL light?  Whats the weight limit?  Is this the same BAL leveler that everyone raves about?

Yes this is the same BAL leveler that some people rave about.
The term "BAL light", is refering to light, single axle trailers, such as a pop up tent trailer.
Not to be used on 20,000 pound triple axle fifth wheels :yikes:

Nice price though!

Golly, that's got to be at least twice or maybe three times what I paid for my Lynx levelers...

And check it out.......you got what you paid for.

Takes me less time with Lynx than the BAL to level.  I can use them under the tongue jack for badly out-of level sites, and have done so.  I have used them in various other ways at the campsite.  If I got what I paid for, you got way less than what you paid for.

That's one of us.  I have Lynx levelers also, but I'd much rather use my BAL.  I use the Lynx for anything else.  Works great for tables.

What's the best for you is not what's best for me.

I just use cut 2x6 boards and it works great. Plus they were free because they were left over from an outdoor project.  And I have just as much fun camping.

AB, you just love to jump on threads and brawl.  Too funny.

The point of the thread was to let others know that I'd found what I though was a decent price for the BAL leveler.  It wasn't to debate who's gear is better and why.

I didn't bring up the "which is better" part; I brought up which is cheaper.  Besides, I am seldom actually trying to brawl, just "stirring the pot" so to speak.

I don't keep track, but I think I do about one in three - one helpful post for three "zingers."  I also cancel about 1 in 5 posts (before I post) because I decide it goes too far.  Some people would be really surprised at some of the things I've written...and not sent.  :yikes:

I want this (http://www.rvpartscenter.com/ProductDetail.asp?PID=28285&SID=15&DID=45&CID=167)  to level mine! It would only take 2, one for the front and one for the back. $1,300 should cover it!   :p

Why bother with a manual system?
Go the whole hog and get a fully automatic, electric leveling system and be able to level you trailer without even breaking a sweat!

Automatic Leveling

Normally $5,152 on sale for $3,999

Now we're talking! And even better, if someone would just integrate an automatic lift system into the leveling system, then you could just push one button, the roof would raise up and the frame would level. Just think how much quicker setup would be!

Oh, and we could have motorized bunk ends that would roll out on their own, and ....

Anybody want a $30k pup that weighs 8,000 lbs.?

You can do all that for $5,000?  The list price for some of today's Fleetwood pop-ups tops out over $25,000 already!  :yikes:

Thought I'd bring this back up top again.  They are currently $59.

I was in a Camping World about a week ago, and they were $83 there.

I'll stick with my manufacturer's manual which states that experienced rvers carry wood, they suggest using a stair set ramp of one bys.

I believe Coleman's manual recommends 'blocks' (page 25, set up - 2009 manual (//%22http://www.colemantrailers.com/uploads/76961235049317.pdf%22))

I was gunna suggest folks that couldn't level or had a need to be within a red hair or for whatever goofy reason to buy from PUX to support this site but it looks like PUX is out of stock!

Yeah, didn't bring this up to start another 'how best to level your camper' war.  A lot of people really like these levelers, including myself.

Even more people don't have a problem leveling using wood or blocks and won't ever understand the need to spend the money or grease.

I get it, some can't camp without their BAL leveler (so they claim). Luckily I'm not one, if you are, PUX usually sells them and buying from dno would support this site. He often doesn't have a source for them in the summer, others run out also!

Threads like this are good advertising for the gadget.

I regret you thought I'd suggest what the manufacturer claims is best, far from, just pointing out to all those that believe what is in the manual (setup order, changing tire, propane fridge travel, etc) the the manual also has something to say about leveling and it is just as important as setup order!  ;~o

The BAL leveler comes with it's own built-in wheel chock for the low side wheel. (Value added)

The last time I checked, the Lego style levelers need to have seperate chocks purchased, and of course, at an additional cost. I have read on some posts, they were actually hard to install to the base blocks.

Those who have elected not to purchase the Lego chocks have had to use rocks, tree limbs, or the BAL wheel chock for that side.

Picked up a used Bal leveler from Craigslist. It was never used, the previous owner said his tires were to small for it. Not even any dust on it and all for just 40 bucks.

Coach, what's with your attitude?  Note that I'm simply saying that an item is such-n-such price and can be purchased from such-n-such supplier.  I made no statement or inference that people are inept, or stupid, or somehow not real campers if they can or can't set up a certain way.  Nor did I make a comment even remotely related to you suggesting the manufacture's claim that a certain setup is best.

And regarding my posting of something that DNO sells in the Trading Post.  I'm guessing that if DNO has a problem with it, he'll let me know.  He's a big boy.

I regret my suggestion to support the forum admin has been replied to with name calling. It was a simple suggestion and encouragement to support the forum, like the post from a former admin suggesting/requesting we click on the ads from time to time. Buy anything you care to anywhere you care. Others may understand the costs involved in keeping the forum alive.

Fact, more people don't use the BAL than do use it('nuf said), and we are thrilled some like the BAL and love hearing over and over again and again "A lot of people really like these levelers, including myself. "

I'll be happy to share my BAL stories, like needing a shovel to use it etc.

I don't need you to attack me on this forum. Please refrain from doing that, thank you.

I say to each their own. I like that with the BAL leveler i have the option of positioning my trailer by hand to provide more privacy at my campsite. With blocks or planks the trailer can only go where the TV can push it. The price of the BAL is simply the price of privacy to me.

Exactly what makes the BAL so cool in my opinion and I always do, just like you suggest......unhitch, walk the camper to were I want it, level it, and enjoy.

Blows my mind that this thread turned into such a beat down over what's better, who's really camping and who isn't, who's got a brain, and what's factory recommended.

It's just a thread of; "Hey, here's something neat that works great, and here's a place that has a good price."
