We are first time owners of a camper. Even though we purchased a 19ft TT we feel most comfortable with pop up campers. Currently our TT is being pulled by our Jeep Liberty. We are looking to up grade this car. We don't want to (really can't afford to) go to big. Are there any suggestions out there for a good tow vehicle.
Gross Vehicle Weight is 3,750

How much does your trailer weigh?

First, I wouldn't tow that TT with a Jeep Liberty. Too short of a wheel base, and I think the vehicle is pretty light.
You might look at an Explorer, Expedition, Envoy, TrailBlazer, or, if you want to stay in the Dodge family, look at the Durango or 4 door Dakotas.

I would look into a 1/2 ton crew cab pick-up, if it were me. I would stay away from 4 wheel drive.
Whatever you purchase, it's best to get a factory tow package, however there are things that you can add that are almost as good. However, a factory tow pkg will often get you a HD radiator and a lower gear ratio, which are items that you don't usually add.
I would look for something with a 5000 pound or more tow capacity. Good luck with the search.:)

That's a fairly heavy TT. I tow my Fleetwood Niagra (3,200 LBS.) with a 2004 Explorer with the SOHC V-6. It has the factory tow package which gives it a tow rating of approx. 5,300 lbs. It tows my TT just fine.
When calculating how much weight you're towing. Figure "Wet Weight" that would be your trailer fully loaded. Also figure 150 Lbs. per person.
