Due to the number of spammers joining the board Dave changed the requirements for membership about five months ago. Anyone requesting membership had to fill in the box labled "interests" on the membership form.
We have had 1710 members join 5-1-2007 to present
Of those 486 were banned as spammers as they included home websites or other indications of online sales or porn.
Of the remaining folks:
72 only posted one time, the majority of these posted a classified or responed to a classified.
252 posted 2 or more times
The remaining "new members" never posted.
So, if you watch the membershipnumbers you may see them go down at times as we delete folks who never post.
Come on folks, if you join you must have an interest - post away even if it's just joks around the campfire.
That seems consistent with other on-line forums.
Some people quickly loose interest, ro are scared away.
Others forget they ever came here and signed up.
An unknown number come back and read, but never, ever post.
Personally, I feel new participants bring fresh ideas and new thought to a forum.
Even occasional "stupid" (there's really no such thing) or "newbie" questions get asked that have never been asked before.
C'mon, join in. I'm the only one that bites, and the others will shut me up if I do.
Austin
Glad you guys stay on top of it. It certainly shows by the caliber of people who post here, both the newbie's and the old guard. I'm thankful for all the help I receive both in current threads and from the archives.

Just jokes around the campfire? I resemble that remark.

But I like to lurk! lol
I guess I need to post again to make sure I stick around huh?
CampCash and I are in the same boat, I better make sure I post.

My interest is figuring out what I have bought, how to use it and for ideas in improving our camping. I am now a "former tenter". Bought my first '04 Fleetwood Yuma in April and finally made it camping in August. [I have got to start working less]. I have found:
banging on the temp knob makes the a/c work
Fridge needs a fan
cannot figure out the 3rd way on the fridge yet
remembed that I have a heater (need to figure out for a Fall trip)
I have a sink leak that I need to find/fix
My 2 yr daughter likes to camp
Aaaah. The last one is the most important. So my post is this...Thank you posters for some great ideas for improving our camping.
