Title: Camper additions
Post by: Starryart on Sep 28, 2003, 07:05 PM
You know after we buy our beloved pop-ups, we can t resist modifying or adding those little somethings that improve it just a tad more.
One of the best things we ever got was a porta-potti. What a relief! (Pardon the pun, [:)]) Though my DH says the little microwave was a great addition.

What was the best improvment you made?

StarryartPutting doors on the ends of the dinette seats, or maybe the hanging shower stall to use the outside shower, no wait it is ......[:D]

StarryartCouldn t agree more about the porta potty but ours didn t fit in the intended cabinet so I had to modify that.

I also put drawers where there was just a cabinet under the sink, that was a big improvement.

And I put a " junk drawer"  under where the stove sits for little things like the flashlights and batteries.

We have to work on stowing clothes, am thinking of just getting the three tier drawers.

StarryartAdd a Room was the biggest improvement in our first PU.  I ll be looking for a deal on an AAR at the local RV show (Feb 14-16) for the new camper.

StarryartI d have a hard time deciding which mod I did is my " best"  or " favorite" .
Adding the water heater is certainly at the top of the list.
 Webshots has my photos.

StarryartFor us the biggest was our shelves above the sink. We had them in our Cheyenne and now have them in our Grandview.
We made many addition and modifications to the Cheyenne. We have very little modifications to make to the Grandview. We read the " newest  edition the Pop-Up Times to day and there was a refence to a outside shelf in Vol 4 No 4. We would be interested in anyone s ideas of a connected to the pop-up table. Thanks

StarryartProbably our most useful camper mod so far was adding dual 6V golf cart batteries in place of the original single group 24 battery. It s nice to have the juice when you need it. The wife s fav so far is the new higher metal faucet with the in place of that tiny plastic faucet that came with the trailer.

Mine fav will probably be the slide-out soft-tub hot-tub... just gotta figure out how to make that persnickety weight ratings thing work out.[;)]

StarryartMine had to be the closed-in cabinet under the sink & storage bins. DW would argue, however to the fact that the electric pump for the sink faucet was the best mod.

Bearbait has a nice outside shelf setup that he put together.  You might want to catch up with him.

As for additions or changes, we haven t done any yet, except to hang shower bags(the flat kind with pockets) at the ends of the bunks for books, flashlights, tissues, etc.

 StarryartThat s an easy one:

Our indoor shower & electric potty.

 By far the best..

But that BAL leveler is nice too!  Along with the socket genie and drill...

StarryartThe best so far has been adding shelves above the sink/stove area and above the couch that added 10  of addition space.

StarryartBest mod I have made on my 98 Cheyenne is currently in progress.  I never did like the fake wood interior , so I am rebuilding the interior with aromatic cedar and maple trim.  I m having way too much fun.[:D]
