Hi guys. I know there are variables here like batter size outdoor temp ect.. but Im just wondering your experiances with keeping the heat on while running off 12v

I have a type 24 battery and can easily get a weekend out of it. We don't do a lot of cold weather camping, but have done a couple weekends where the night time temps dip into the 30s and never had any problems running the furnace at night.
With late fall (about this time of the year) and early spring (April), with night temps getting down into the low 40's and into the 30's (and maybe even to freezing a night or two), conservative use by setting the night time thermostat at 55, I've gotten a week out of a battery charge and a tank of L/P. When bumping up the thermostst from the 55 mark it reduces both the charge and the L/P proportionally. I've found that in the morning it might be chilly getting out of the sleeping bag at 55 degrees but if you stick your nose outside you'll tell the difference! Besides, when you fire up the cook stove for the morning coffee that will heat-up the PU kinda quick.
I should also add that covering the bunk ends with an insulation covering adds much to the efficiency.
