Hi all, I just received a Motomaster Eliminator 800w power box for Christmas and was wondering if anyone has used one of these to power their pup with it. We dry camp alot and have had some dissapointments with the 12v. system on cold nights. The only appliances we run are the heater and the dome lights when necessary, so that shouldn't be that big of a draw. I'd appreciate any input, Thanks! :XMas :C

The battery that's included is only a 28 amp hour AGM.
Even a group 24 small abttery has at least twice the amperage available. These are fine for running a light or two for a night or two or a DVD movie, but to power a camper...nope.

What sort of dissappointments? We boondock all the time, winter included, and do just fine on power. Can I be of help?

What size battery do you have in your PU? This will give us an idea of why you dont have enough power............Ed C.
I have a Coleman Taos '01. My bat is a Motomaster Nautulis 1000a. My 12v problems have been from cold nights, (0c or colder) which pooched my bat and shutdown the whole system, to bad wires from the bat terminals to the trailers connector. I have also upgraded my converter /inverter from the original 12amp service to an Elixir ELX25 amp service. I thought by bringing my power box inside the pup, and plugging in, I would have solved the problem of a cold temp shutdown. Is there a better way to keep my bat/12v working on those cold nights? Keeping in mind, the only things I would run on it are the campers dome lights and the fan for the heater....no tv...no fridge...no laptop. I also have a 5w solar panel to trickle charge the box or the bat during the day when I use no power...thanks gang! :)
For one thing your 5 watt solar panel is of little help to keeping your battery charged, especially in the winter months when there is less hours of sun light. The 5 watt panel does little even during the summer when the days are longer. It is meant to help keep a battery that is not in use topped off and that is about all. To do any good at all you would need at least 45 or more watts of solar power. I'm sure Wavery will have more details on this.
