Has anyone camped at the Whitetail Campground near Deerfield in South Dakota? What did you think of the campground? Do you think reservations are needed? It looks to me like it might be far enough away from Rushmore that it may not be like Colorado in August (packed) but I've never been there so what do I know ;).
Has anyone dry camped in the area (Black Hills) in mid-June? What are the crowds like? Is that a busy time of year? We are planning a 10-12 day trip in mid-June, staying in the Badlands 2-3 days, and then on to the Black Hills area. We're dry campers but any info about any South Dakota Black Hills camping would be helpful.
