I have been noticing alot of TT's with all of their running lights on at cgs when they're hooked to shore power, and I was wondering if anybody knows how this is done?
I have noticed it too, especially when I am trying to sleep. I don't know why people want to go off in the woods and then light the woods up like they are in a city. If they want to camp in a well lit area they should camp in a Wal-Mart parking lot. I don't mind lights in the evening, but when people start going to bed I wish they would turn their lights off. Oh and they do it by using a jumper to connect the pin in the camper's plug with 12 volt power from the battery or so I have been told. Sorry to rant on your post, but this is one of my pet peeves. :)
I understand the rant. I turn off all my lights and even cover the display on the stereo at night. But I do think the running lights being on during the evening are pretty cool as long as they are off at bed time (mine not theirs, lol)

Maybe they're testing their marker lights. We always do a walk-around check of the camper before heading out each time. Part of the check is to make sure all lights are working. It's easier to see all the lights in the dark to make sure they're working.
No their using them as a form of party lights. I couldn't find a link but there is a commercial product made to plug into the trailer plug that is just a jumper wire in a plastic case to keep the plug dry.

What Mike said. They are using them as "tacky" lights. I first saw it 2 years ago at Watkins Glen SP, NY.:)
I know a friend of mine has a Coleman pup. I think it is the Mesa. His trailer came from the factory with the running light switch located on the side board of his bed. he hits it almost every time he get in and out of bed and it drives him nuts. He has diconnected it

a switch inside the door would be cool. I wonder how I would wire that up. (I'm not an electrician I'm a machinist.)
