LOL, YOU ROCK!!!   That is so freaking funny!  I love your sense of humor as well as being a realist!!   Not bad for a youngster. At least younger than me,LOL

So I take it the 94 Coleman was not made out to be worth the asking price!

Nope, it was just a HUGE waste of gas money. He wanted WAY too much, and it was far from the pristine condition he advertised it as.  However, he had a long list of people to call after we left, so someone probably allowed themselves to be taken as a sucker. We'll probably get the '07 Palomino Yearling. When the dealer found out we were losing interest, he dropped to his knees and is now offering us a great deal!

Hopefully my post will help others who haven't bothered to research before they look. If I had the time, I'd post that in every craiglist rv section that I could.

If I get any emails from my post, I'll post them here.  Hehehe!
Title: I've already been turned in. LOL!

Now I'm just getting mad. Why on earth was that flagged? It was friendly info that applied to every person posting an rv for sale or looking for one.

Not sure why it was removed. They have their policies I am sure. Most of the time it is autogenerated so no human really removes the ads. You go get that new camper girl, make the salesman drop another 250-500 off his counteroffer and take those kiddos camping this weekend with or without DH!!   :tent:  :#  :!
Title: LOL! On a mission.

Okay, so I toned it down and took out the direct link. Here's the new Disney version. Let's see how long this one stays up.

I do agree with what you are saying here. You get what you can AFFORD to pay for, those individuals you are referencing find that out. She has the money, just tired of looking at pups at 4k+ that are not worth half that much.

For $4,000 the rear end bunk rails are most likely bent.  The support poles touch the ground.  They are not supposed to be able to do that. :p

Someone posted this today on craigslist in response to my friendly info. They didn't email me personally, sounds like a seller.

It really is a case of 'buyer beware' - especially in used campers, it pays to do your research - and be patient.

campers can vary so much in condition - and some people
can do some remarkably stupid things to their campers.... and then feel no remorse in selling off their damaged equipment to some poor unsuspecting person.

NADA and other similar sites at least give someone a starting point to work up or down from.

I've seen 30 yr old PUPs and other campers in pristine, garage-kept condition that were worth much more than newer ones with all the bells and whistles that have been neglected or abused.  It's really difficult to put a price on condition- even if you have done research or restoration work previously.

I run into this all the time buying cars to restore/rebuild.  I probably come home with an empty trailer at least 50% of the time.....but it feels more like 75%.

Every dry run costs me about $130 in fuel, 8-12hrs of my life, and sometimes the expense of renting a trailer depending on what I'm going to get.  Needless to say, it pisses me off to know end when I show up to find something grossly misrepresented.

About a month ago I went to San Francisco to pick up a $4,500 Audi A6 wagon. Prior to leaving, I made sure I'd received a bunch of photos, and seller had assured me the paint was all the same color (pearl white) and that the tint on the windows was also excellent.  Well, after a 4.5hr drive I show up to find a 3 color Audi parked out on the street.  It had been repainted the wrong shade of pearl, then hit and repaired/repainted 2 more times.  There was a 2" section of window tint hanging from the back glass.  10hrs on the road, $130 in fuel and $50 to rent a car hauler.

It's all I can do not to post a nasty response to the seller's ad that is still running and describing the paint as excellent.

I know your pain! I have gotten a couple thank you emails from people on craigslist, saying that they had no idea how bad people were trying to rip them off. Haven't gotten anything negaitive in my inbox, just that 1 seller who rebuttled with his own ad.

After looking at many used pop-ups, I realized there was a big difference in peoples ideas of "perfect condition." Some will say "perfect, like new" or the there is "perfect condition for its age", gotta love that one, because that is where the huge sliding scale of condition comes in to play.

Yep, that's the BS I got from the guy, "What? I didn't notice that left rear quarter was a different color.  Well anyway, the paint is in excellent condition for a car 'in-the-city'."

The last guy that wasted my time/money like this I actually did post a warning ad on CL.  Guess how he got even with me?  He posted a sex ad in the CL services offered, with the photo of a hispanic gal, "call any time" and my cell phone number."  Those were some fun calls to start getting at 1am and throughout the next day.  Apparently a lot of white guys are looking for a little latina on the side!!!!  Took assistance from the PD and CL to get that ad taken down.  But I have to hand it to the guy....he knew how to get even!!
