I saw a T@B at the Paddle boat races in Cincinnati.  I thought I would get one to pull behind the VW Bug to save gas.  Then I decided to take the wife and kids with me so I went with the Coleman Niagra instead.

I've seen a couple of them at the shows and think they're a little too sterile, especially for the price.  The T@B and the T@DA are as pricey but much nicer.

Their importer / US agent has called us a few times to inquire about our advertising rates and the possibility of us doing an article about them. No plans for either either at this point.

My trailer just happens to be an iCamp Elite, as indicated in my sig. It's beyond me why people on these boards bash the fact that someone may have something a little different than the normal. If I had a Coleman or a Starcraft it probably wouldn't be an issue, but because I don't I'm singled out like the kid on the playground that can't play baseball as well as the other kids. It's a shame. Might as well bash my Toyota because it's not one of the Big 3 too, get it all out. :(

Well it looks like one of the T@B it has that old 60's look to it. as the size its ok if your are single but not if have a family i look at on of the T@B at the RV show back in Feb they don't have lot of room or head room.

And sort of on topic, Cesna has decided to have the Chinese build it's new personal aircraft.  You should go to their website and read that blog if you want to see some pissed off American aircraft owners, and some great rhetoric from Cesna's exec's about how it's the right decision, and how it doesn't really take jobs away from Americans who could be given jobs building the plane.

The "Chinese Junk" syndrome is quite reminiscent of the 60's when Japan started exporting a lot of cheap crap to the US. Back then, it was "Jap Junk".

Look what happened. The Japanese (as is the Chinese) became an industrial giant. They addressed the quality issues, over time and are building better quality products then we ever did. The auto industry is a prime example. Our automobile manufacturers are so far behind in quality, it isn't funny. You never here the term, "Jap Junk" anymore. The Chinese are still learning and developing manufacturing techniques. When they get it right (which they will), the rest of the world will be in big trouble.

The sad part is, the US no longer builds hardly anything because our labor is so expensive due to the unions. We are strictly a consumer nation and as such our very survival is in jeopardy.

So, to answer your question, "why do people Bag on each others stuff?".......It's not a matter of "Bagging" each other as it is addressing a very real threat in the only way that we know how and have always done. The other sad thing is, the people that cry the loudest are usually the ones that buy all that stuff.

So enjoy your Japenese truck that was built in the US by disgruntled UAW workers, and your China hut that will probably be a collector's item some day.  And by the way, I'm hauling a $250 camper that I bought at a soup kitchen, with a $1,900 Suburban I bought at the Goodwill.  So there! :D

I've been laughing at the new Ford commercials that say Ford is now as good as a Toyota.  Never in my life did I imagine an American car company embracing a comment like that outoud.  I mean, how 'bout doing what the Japenese did.....buy a handful of Toyotas, take them apart, find out what they're doing that works so well, copy it, improve on the copy, and then build a better car or truck.  It's not rocket science!  The problem with most American cars, cross-overs, mini-vans and some SUV's (in my opinion) is that the design is so trendy inside and out, that in a year they look outdated and stupid, and by year 3, look like a joke going down the road.

As you can tell im really not much into all the PC crap our country seems to embrace these days. So with that said how can anyone compare Chinese Junk with Japenese Made anything. For goodness sake China is a rotten Communistic place that enslaves their people to death! Japan is far from that! Also have you PC folks not noticed the stuff from China that is tainted with life threatening agents...lead infested toys to poisoned tooth paste to name a few..... Thats my definition of JUNK and Im sticking to it!!!!

Mr archer,  Please take a moment to read your first post.............I agree with you that China manufactures sub-standard products,  however, I'd bet 98% + of us on these boards have some type of product we use in our homes on a daily basis that was "Made in China".  The statement you made that bothers me was, and I quote: "Future Newspaper article: Family Killed by Chinese Camper Collapse while they slept! ROFL". I would see nothing funny about a family getting killed because they bought a Chinese made product. This statement has nothing to do with PC's, or PC crap as you put it, it came from your own brain, which I have a feeling was "Made in China"

Last summer, we had a chinese exchange student spend 3 weeks with us. Great kid. His family was well off in China and he was not the backwards farm boy I was expecting. Within the first 30 minutes of being in our home, he was on a laptop downloading Messenger with a Chinese character set. :compumad:

We took him camping for his very first time and he loved the PUP. He was more interested in that than in the beautiful views of Mt Hood and the great outdoors. He was all computer, all the time.

I was shocked to find out that he is in school for at least 12 hours/day and follows that with homework until midnight. I asked him what he does on his summer vacation and he gave me a puzzled look. He has none. He is in school for the summer as well.

At this rate, America does not have a chance. One of his main focuses of the trip was to become better at the english language. He speaks, writes and communicates in english very well and is working hard to get better. How many of our kids are doing that with any other language...or even our own.

His biggest dissapointment of the whole trip was that he had money to spend on american souveneirs(sp?). He couldn't find any. He literally went home with nothing US. He was so excited to go to a Nike shoe outlet and after an hour, walked out with nothing because not 1 item was made in the US. It was actually embarrassing as we went from store to store and continually turned items over, only to see the 'Made in China' label. He was very interested in christianity and wanted to buy a cross. He finally bought one and took it back to China where it originated.

Unfortunately for us, and even more for our kids, America has slipped into the typical sleeping giant. Why work hard when you're number 1? Was it Avis (car rental company) who had the slogan years ago, "We work harder because we have to." The gist of the commercial was that they work harder because they're not number 1.

History is full of examples of the top dogs (remember the Romans?) falling to other nations that were just plain old working harder at everything. On the history channel, they have stories of civilizations that were great and just seem to have dissappeared. My theory is they were just assimilated by the outsiders working harder at life than they were.

Anyway, sorry to babble on. Just thought I would pass on some of my first hand experience with just 1 Chinese in particular.

It takes actual effort to buy American.  It takes even more effort to actually vote in all elections.  It takes better effort to budget your money, and get up and go to work, and work hard while you are there, and do all the little things (even when no one is watching) to be a good American.  Wake up America!  Your country is slipping away and most Americans are helping push.  Encourage your children to joing the military because it is honorable, good, and decent, and support your local church.  Do the things that people did when America was great.  In case you are wondering when that was,  it was before 1960.

America is slipping for several reasons, but one of the main reasons I think is the lack of Leadership at the top. We haven't had anyone in the White House in a very long time that has the ability to rally the troops and inspire the nation.

With the lot we have running now, I don't see it getting any better this go around either.

I agree, but leadership starts with leading ourselves to do the right thing all the time(especially when no one is looking).  The world is full of followers.  So, that makes many people leaders that don't know it.

Men and Women of character and integrity will rise to the call of a situation.  The one who does it first, and has the loudest voice in the darkness is the one you refer to as a leader.  Great Leaders are born of difficult times.  I do not believe we need someone in Washington DC to tell us what is happening and what to do about it.  I do not want someone in Washington DC fighting for me.  I want the liberty to think for myself and to take action.  All I want from DC is someone to end the political correctness, take their foot off my neck, their hand out of my pockets, and not take any crap from any other country on earth.  We as the American people need to lead the globe.  We had done a good job of that until about 1960.  The problem is we have done the wrong thing for the last 48 years and the world has done what they do best.  They followed.  I say be the best leader you can be everyday.  If you choose to be a follower that is great as well.  Just choose the right one to follow and then be the best follower you can be everyday.  The best way to tell a great leader?  The one who allows the most personal liberty, and demands the most personal accountability.  These two things are in very short supply these days, especially the accountability.
