I myself am glad that we own a pop-up.  We aren't restricted by high motel/hotel prices, (reservations required ), and we sure don't have to FLY anywhere.  Shelp the pop-up to a nice quiet campground, set up home-away-from-home and relax....sounds like a vacation to me... :D

Last month my 'ole fishing buddy and myself towed the little Starcraft from the coast to the mountains for our annual spring fly fishing get-together. Good thing my buddy was along as we split the costs. Gas was about double compared to the year before.

What was significant is that enroute we came across a convoy of motor homes heading west, too. Kinda think maybe there was a get together at Myrtle Beach and they were heading home (or maybe to another group destinatrion!). I just can't imagine their gas bill for the same mileage we towed the Starcraft.

In the past I've made a lot of these trips solo and met up with the gang, but with today's gas pricing, got to have company!
