Title: cooling the fridge
Post by: ltrcrr on May 22, 2008, 01:15 PM
Hers another stupid question.
Can I run my fridge while my pop-up is closed down? I would like to cool it a day or so before I hit the road and was wondering if anything will go wrong?
 Thanks

You sure can. We open the lower vent and use an extension cord to plug the fridge into the house 120 volt. That way we don't have to drag out/force back in the trailer's shore power cable.

Sadly ours isn't a 3 way, so I fire it up the afternoon before we leave and by the next morning it's ready for packing.

I plug mine in the day before with an extension cord right at the shore power cable.

No dragging out/forcing back the trailer's cable.  And this let's the converter box also top off the trailer battery, as well as cooling down the refrigerator.
