Title: rubber coated Horshoes??
Post by: jim2312 on Jun 22, 2008, 02:21 PM
Well I love playing horseshoes but when I am camping I absolutly HATE the clanging sound all day, so I have never brought a set.  However, I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get a heavy duty rubber set?  I have found many indoor rubber sets but these are more of a kids toy.  I have yet to find an adult style set that is rubber or rubber coated.

If anyone knows of one I would greatly appreciate any links.

Thanks,

Jim

I wonder if you could use one of those tool dips to coat them yourself? Seems like a few layers of Plasti Dip would do the job.

I'd try checking on e-Bay.  I know the heavy duty rubber sets were mass produced about 30 years ago because my sister and I had one (unfortunately my mother got rid of it or else I'd send it to you) - hopefully a lot of people will still be selling them secondhand.  Good luck!
