Title: Replacing canvas
Post by: elainedf on Jun 26, 2008, 05:45 PM
Has anyone replaced the canvas on their pop up?  have heard it is easy. Have looked  online and it seems like Bear Creek Canvas is the only one that gives you a price.  Has anyone used Bear Creek before or do you have any other suggestions of where to order the canvas?
Thanks Elaine

I can only speak for Canvas Replacements out of Wisconsin. You can reach them at canvasreplacements.com. I found them very helpful even when I thought I had a problem. They gave me some tips about install and did everything for me except come to my house and put it on. Another suggestion to save some $$. I only purchased from Canvas Replacements the sections I needed. For example I only purchased a bunk end and a side because the other sections on my pu were in good shape. Good luck.

I just  replaced the top and travel cover on my Coleman Colorado. Bearcreek got  an original top from the manufacturer and fabricated the travel cover. Both were of excellent quality and fit well.  I would recccommend them highly! Hope this helps. Cathy

We chose Canvas Replacements, as well, because they were a few dollars cheaper, and because their canvas came directly from Jayco as OEM. We are very pleased with the quality. It took us about 2 to 3 hours to install. We had a difficult time getting the plastic bead to slide into the tracks at the bottom on both sides, but we finally got it. That may have been something unique to our brand, not necessarily the canvas itself.

Good luck!

Just a question for those who have replaced, especially just a couple of sections.  Does it match? Does it look original?  The clock is ticking on our canvas and I've been wondering what it's going to look like when we finally have to replace it.

austinado16,
My canvas matched it was a off white. The only difference was it was newer looking on the two sections that didn't match. The old may have been a little faded. One of the best investments I made for my camper.
