Hi Everyone! Hope you are having a great summer camping. My family is going on our second trip for the season today, but before we go I thought I'd try to get to the bottom of my toilet situation. We have a Thetford potty that when I depress the rise button, does nothing. Is this just a fuse thing or am I supposed to do something to "turn it on" first. I noticed that they are "electric". Right now we're just keeping a bottle of water handy to rinse the bowl when used. Thank you for any input!

I am having the same problem with mine. I think it's just the fuse but I have looked and looked for that darn thing and I can't find it yet. I have been told it's kind of hidden. I am going to borrow my neigbhors extendable mirror this weekend to see if I can locate it. I'll let you know if I find it.
Thanks AZsix. Hopefully I'll figure mine out too!
It's been a few years since we had a port-a-potti. We had the "manual" flush model as well as the electric model.
The manual one has a bellows that pumps water when you push it down.
The electric one has a push button to do the water pumping.
First off, make sure you have fresh batteries installed in the pump. (if yours is electric, which I kind of figure it is from your discription of the problem) Also verify they are installed correctly. If those items are correct, then you probably have the same problem my electric developed: a stuck motor/pump.
If you are handy or know someone that is, take the motor/pump assembly out and free it up. Then lubricate it well and re-install.
I did this on ours and it worked well until we sold it with the camper.
Best of luck.
Bob
