We have a 2007 Fleetwood Bayside...at the time of purchase we opted not to have a toilet...but now wish that we had it : ( Can you have one put in now or is that something that we would have had to get at the time of buying it ? We have a shower tent with potti in it but most all of the campgrounds that we use are no longer letting you put up a shower tent for any reason. thanks for any help you can give.
Buy a Thedford electric pottapottie. The CP (cassette toilet option) runs over $700 plus installation. Installation would include adding the curtain hangers and curtain as well as the toilet itself. About $150 for the extras and figure 4 hours at dealer labor rates at a minimum ($90-$110 per hour).

That is bothersome. What is the reason for not letting you set up a pottie tent? Are these private CGs or State Parks?
Personally I don't want a toilet in my camper, but that is a subjective issue. Not having the choice is more objectionable to me than a potty in a camper.
I have my PETT, which is used by Federal and State agencies for temporary toilet facilities when commercial port-a-jon services are not available.
You can certainly get a small, self contained unit that is much less expensive than the $700 golden throne suggested above. Hanging a curtain is not that big a deal, at least not for me.

The campgrounds are the Army corp... they say that to many people are just letting the water from the shower drain onto the ground and thats not good ?????? We did not use ours as a shower only for the potti seat.. we didnt even have it set up next to camper where we do have outside shower...it was off to the side... they told us that we could be fined if we did not take it down .. I even showed the park ranger that there was no water going to it .... said that it did not matter we had to take it down... so i guess that we will just have to have it set up out in the open for all to see.
thanks for the help
Who needs a pottie tent.......Next time you go to one of these campgrounds that prohibits pottie tents, you just set up your porta pottie in front of your pop up and in the morning you go out there, drop em, and sit down with your newspaper. You will be amazed at how fast your neighbors will start packing up and leaving and before you know it, you'll have a whole section of the campground to yourself.

Was thinking the same myself. If you looked like me, the Rangers would probably be on site immediately allowing you to put the tent back up.

Cajun - I like the way you think. Fight absurdity with absurdity.

That does sound screwy. If you were creating a mud slide down the hill to the next camp site, I could understand. Whatever. I'll keep that in mind if/when we try and ACOE cg. Thanks for the info.
