Title: Famous Arch in National Park collapses
Post by: maromeo on Aug 10, 2008, 10:26 AM
I wished I would have visted this park before now. It is one of the few parks DH and DD have not seen.

I know several forum members have been to this park. I thought this was interesting news

Kelly from MN. I remember when you were planning your out west trip several years ago. I am glad you and your children got to see the park before this happened.

It is on my list of places to visit. I think that going here has just became more of a priority. Thanks for posting the article.

Thanks for posting this article.  Arches is a wonderful park and Devils Garden is a great hike.

It is sad to see a natural wonder disappear.  We saw that arch a few years back.

Funny, but it is still sad to visit the site of the Old Man of the Mountains in New Hampshire and realize that it is only a pile of rubble at the bottom of a mountain now.  Going to see the Old Man was a family tradition every year.

Me too, Mary.  Hard to believe, but that trip was 5 years ago already!  Some of the younger ones don't remember much ... but I sure do!

My brother and sister in law just got back from there.  I wonder if they backed into it on there way out!  ;)

I grew up in MA and it was always such a treat as a kid to see the "Old Man".

They said that eventually all the arches will fall. It's just a fact of nature. I'm hoping next year to make the trip to Arches.

It was on our wish list of places to visit.  What a shame...
