This is the 4th season I've been towing my 1995 Jayco 1207 with a 2001 Astro. Been a perfectly adequate set up. The Jayco fully loaded weighs about 2000 pounds ~ well within the capacity of the Astro even fully loaded.
I was a little concerned about how low everything sat ~ the trailer has itty-bitty tires (20.5 x 8.0 x 10) and the Astro is notorious for rear end sag. but figured that was just the way things were going to be.
Earlier this spring I had the shocks replaced with a set of Monroe Load-leveler shocks and a few weeks ago I had to have an idler arm replaced. We loaded up and headed for North Dakota and it was like towing with a new vehicle!! Amazing what a difference a few new parts makes!
Now I have to go buy a new hitch ... the trailer isn't level any more. :p

Had the same problem when I bought the 2500 Silverado. The Kiwi was high in the front.
Went to the dealer to get a new hitch and ended up buying a 30 foot tt, so be careful. :)

It wasn't my idea to buy the new rig. DW didn't like the price of the hitch ($159) and said let's look.
Well, we are both happy with this rig so I am not complaining.
I think I'll stick with the cheap and easy for now. And I'll get the new hitch at the hitch place, so I'm not even remotely tempted to change my mind. ;)
