Title: Is this camping weather or what?
Post by: CajunCamper on Sep 16, 2008, 08:48 AM
Okay, so I may be a little excited that our nightime low last night was 64 degrees and the high today will be around 80 degrees with low humidity, but cut me some slack, I'm from the deep south. I know guys like AustinBoston are waiting for the lakes to freeze and many of you are thinking about your last outing of the year before preparing your pup for the deep freeze, but for me and mine, the camping season is just kicking off. In Alaska they say there are three seasons, June, July and winter, well here where I live we have three seasons as well, July, August, and camping season.

Cajun -  I heard that!  I'm going to Southern California next week and those temps are looking pretty good.

Yeppers - so nice to sleep with the windows open vs. closed and AC going!  (although allergy season will soon hit again).

To hear the tree frogs, the crickets, the waves lapping against the shore...all lulling you to sleep.  Ah, tis the season!

Here in the DEEP SOUTH, just beginning to FEEL human again -- sat on my screened porch & enjoyed the birds, especially the hummingbirds (were flying in two's all day); temps were actually pleasant enough to enjoy sitting there for hours. I've been hibernating since last of April!!! Camping won't come until November this year. Can't wait !!!  :-()  :-()  :-()

It is getting cool here in NH but DW and I are heading over to VT for a week of fall camping.

Temp ranges should be around 40 to 45 at night and up to the low 70's during the days.  That is perfect fall camping weather.  Just starting to get a touch of color in the leaves so it should be a good leafpeeping week.

Then the tt goes into hybernation until Dec 1.
