Good info on trailer tires here (//%22http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTrailerTireFacts.dos%22)

"All "ST" tires have a maximum speed rating of 65 mph."

A PDF from Carlisle  (//%22http://www.carlisletire.com/product_care/trailer_tire_poster.pdf%22)is where I got the quote below

"High speed towing in hot conditions degrades Trailer Tires significantly. As heat builds up during driving, the tire

Excellent info, thanks for posting it.

I've taken an infrared temp gun with me on the last 2 trips across the Mojave Desert from here in southern CA to the Grand Canyon.  When it was in the one-teens outside, I was getting sustained tread temps in the 143*F range on both the TV and the trailer.

The PUP uses 5.80x12's at 80psi and I tow at about 60-65 depending on where I'm at.
