Title: Towing mirrors
Post by: springer02 on Sep 30, 2008, 06:58 PM
We have been using the type of mirrors that clip onto the existing side-view mirrors on our Jeeps but they are 7 seasons old and will need to be replaced this winter.  I've seen the little, stick on round mirrors that go right on the side view mirrors.  Does anyone have these and do they work?  They seem like they'd be so much easier than my big, cumbersome mirrors.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Tena

I have the Tow 'n See mirrors and I like them a lot. They keep in place with suction cups. No vibration, no fuss, and not expensive. Check http://www.rvsupplywarehouse.com/product/detail.cfm/pid/1597

Happy camping!

The small round mirrors that stick to you existing mirrors didn't work for me and some others on here.

They're also difficult to get off once they're on your mirror.

Here's a lengthy post reviewing several I had and what's the best out there in my opinion.

Here's the link. (//%22http://www.trailerlife.com/cforum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/21363258/gotomsg/21365269.cfm#21365269%22)

We have used the tow n see convex for a year now. DW's 03 sanoma crew cab & my 99 gmc jimmy both have had 3" spot stick on convex mirrors since we purchased each new. We are big fans of convex mirrors stuck on the oem,s. The tow n see's are great, solid mount no vibration, easy on&off. If I had to do it again I would opt for the flat style. The field of view on the convex is so wide and the back of the pup is so small in relationship to such a wide view, it takes more than a quick glance to seperate the back of the pup from other vehicles, especially in heavy traffic. :usflag:

I have to agree with that. I may try the flat mirror, but I dont' think it would offer a wide enough field of vision. I'll only try it from somewhere that offers a money back refund though. I found myself using the rear view mirror when passing instead of the tow n see. However the tow n see lets you see everything, on the side, behind, and to the side of the camper. It's just tiny as you said, and in heavy traffic it does make it harder to pass.
