Hi,
Yes I have some info. The week will be July 13th to the 17th, 2009. As far as the location, I am researching campgrounds in the Northwestern area of Pa., Ohio, and Northwestern Virginia.
How do those locations sound?
There was an expression of interest in Cedar Rapids. Is that too far for everyone? Are there any other locations of interest from people who will actually come and camp?
Cheryl

Hi all,

Is this Rally open to all campers or do you need to belong to the group.  My wife and I are new PUP campers and are interested in meeting other campers.  We are located in north-central West Virginia and the areas you are talking about are easily within our driving range.
Thanks,
Bob

Blackbear welcome to PUT!  Anyone is welcome to camp with us at the rally (and you are welcome to join COTOC, see us in the camping club section of this forum).  We look forward to meeting new campers.  If you have any suggestions for campgrounds please let us know.  :)

Might be you're thinking of Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.  http://www.cedarpoint.com/

We were there for a few days this past summer.

Sandusky is about 10 to 12 hours for me towing. Not sure if I have that in me anymore. I do hear it is nice up there, not sure about in July.  I saw the signs a number of years ago as we were heading (NOT towing) to Lansing)

Hi Just Me.......Not orginally from Preston County but love the area and moved here from Glen Burnie, MD.  (semi-retired)  Couldn't stand the hot weather in Glen Burnie so I traded it for cold winters and lots of snow.

Barbra are you serious about coming to the rally?  You haven't been to one in several years and from your signature line, you don't have a tow vehicle.:)

Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the late reply but I've been off camping and just got back.

Yes, the Cedar Rapids in Ohio.....there is a HUGE amusement park there and of course the Great Lakes. Yes, it is a long drive.
We went to Guaga(SP?) Lake a couple of years ago (also in Ohio but closer than Cedar Rapids) and they had a very nice large amusement park. It was still a lot of driving/towing.
Most of the interest has been expressed for the North/western Pa. and Northwestern Va. area. I'm still checking things out.

Welcome Blackbear.........if it has canvas/awnings and you can sleep in it, you are always welcome to the group.
I will try to keep everyone posted.
Cheryl

Cheryl-

Your a bit confusing on this.  It's Cedar POINT, not Cedar Rapids.  Everyone's thinking of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Or, call it Sandusky, Ohio.  Sandusky (Cedar Point) is on Lake Erie about halfway between Cleveland and Toledo.

You are quite right dthurk!
It is Cedar Point in Ohio. I have so many names running thru my mind right now I'm not even sure of my own!
Sorry for the confusion, I will try to improve in upcoming posts.
