Concord, NH is 1.84 to 1.87.

Going to make the drive to Florida a lot cheaper than last year.  :)

Paid $3.29 to $3.11 on the way home last year.  Looks like gas will be a little more than half of what the cost was coming home.

I liked some of the prices that were quoted along our route.  Thanks for the info.

It's dropped to $1.439 at the stations (Exxon, Shell, and Mapco) closest to my house.  Just up the road a couple of miles it's 11 cents higher.  And, Kroger with their 10 cents off is still a penny higher.  So, what good is that silly card when buying their overpriced groceries doesn't save a thing?  (my apologies to any of you who may be Kroger employees - I'm just not a fan).

The "Experts" are now saying that the price of gas could drop to $1.00 a gal or lower in early 2009 because the economy will probably get worse. Maybe so... Remember last summer when these same experts were telling us to get used to the higher prices because gas would never drop below $3.00 again?

Remember last summer when these same experts were telling us to get used to the higher prices because gas would never drop below $3.00 again?

The "experts" here in AZ told us that gas would bottom out around $3.35 before going up again. We got gas last night for the Expedition for $1.55. It was on empty and we got change back from our $40. My wife almost fainted.

It is getting to the low 1.70s/ gallon in some places here around Santa Maria, CA.

Post by: GeneF on Dec 11, 2008, 01:16 PM
All I know is that it cost us about $335 for the approximately 1500 miles from NH to St. Pete .  That is over $100 less than it cost us to come down last year and we drove about 1300 last year to St. Augustine.

We paid a high of $2.26 to a low of $1.57.

Thing that added to our expenses this year was the cat.  Cost us $15 at one motel and $10 at another one to have the cat in the room with us.  Couldn't get a senior discount for the cat nor would they listen to reason when I said that the cat would use no linen and was bringing her own john. :)

Averaged about 8.2 mpg until we got to FL and then jumped to a whooping 9.2 mpg.  Can attribute this to the warmer weather and the flat FL terrain.

Gas here in SW Ohio is at $2.05. It jumped up a few days ago from the $1.80-1.90 price. It was down to $1.49 not long ago. With the price of a barrel of oil at the lowest price it's been in years, who is making all the money?
