I am new to this forum and I also just purchased a used PUP. I am just curious as to what trips other members have planned for 2009 and do you plan all of your trips early in the season or do you just wing it and go when you can.
So far I have 4 trips planned for 2009.
1) April - Wildwood State Park Long Island NY - This will be my first trip with our PUP. It is very local for us within 50 miles.
2) May - Lake George Escape in Lake George NY
3) June - Hither Hills Montauk NY
4) August - South Arm Campground Maine
I want to try to get a few more in also.
Great to be a part of this group. Hope to see some of you at a campground in the future.
Quick answer....as many as possible.
Longer answer..."at least" one trip a month from Feb thru Nov would make me a happy camper. More than one a month would be ok also :D
Sadly we only have 2 planned :(
April 3-5 Lake Isabella Fishing Derby and the SCCampers annual halloween rally in October....................... I'm hoping we get to plan more though ;)
I have three trips currently planned. The first trip will by my first with my new (and first) PUP, a 2008 Fleetwood E1.
1. My brother and I are meeting some friends at a campground on Lake Whitney, NW of Waco, TX in a week and a half
2. My dad, brother and I are going on a camping and fishing trip at the end of March. We haven't decided on the location yet because so many lakes in central and southeast Texas are so low. Many are 3-4' low and some are as much as 10' low.
3. Taking a trip with a bunch of friends to some private land at the beginning of May. It will be my first dry camping trip with the PUP. I generally stay 3 nights, so it will be interesting to see if the battery lasts the whole time. If I'm conservative, it shouldn't be a problem.
I'll go camping at least two more times during the year, and most likely it will be 3 or 4 more. Only one trip will I not take the PUP, because I like the tent camping area better at this campground. The RV sites don't have any trees covering them and they're mainly concrete. Not a good combination in July in Texas.
Below is a few of my trips that I have planned - I may get a couple more in during the early fall
1. Feb - 3 nights - next week-end - group - Northern Starcraft
2. March 2009 - 2 trips planned - KOA Petaluma, CA and maybe Anthony Chabot, Oakland Hills, CA - week-end of March 20
3. April - Anthony Chabot (2 nights)
4. May - Pismo - 4 nights
5. June - Pelican Point - 2 night
6. July - Ventura 5 nights
7. July & August - Smithwood - 5 nights
8. Sept - Sugar Barge
9. Nov - Lodi
10. Dec - maybe stay home
And somehow with all this camping hopefully I can keep my second job.
Have planned the following:
So far 20 nights confirmed.
May--Tuckahoe SP, MD 2 nights
May--Black Moshannon SP, PA 2 nights
June--Blackwater Falls SP, WV 2 nights

All the above are already reserved. Have others in the planning stage but no reservations yet.

We're going to try and get in more local camping trips this year. We'll be going back to the Grand Canyon again at the end of July, beginning of August, so that we can hike rim-to-rim. We also want to get back to Kings Canyon/Sequoia Nat'l again.........and I'd like to get into Yosemite at least once.
For sure we're going back to this place ASAP ... like when trout season opens the first of April ~

C'mon Fly, don't you know it is not legal to fish at a fish hatchery? :)
Naw ... that's not a hatchery. Almost as bad. It's right below a dam where it's illegal to fish (and the fish seem to know it!), under constant scrutiny of the DNR. Anyway, they are feeding on what the affluence of the dam has stirred up. Down river where it's legal to fish everyone is lined up shoulder to shoulder hoping one of these beauty's will wander down that far.

If you like to HIKE, Palo Duro is pretty cool, and the campgrounds are nice.
we're in Ohio, so any winter camping involves a southern road trip ( i know there are hardier souls, who enjoy snow more than I)
we are going to spring break and towing to Florida this April.
and a 2 week trip to the outer banks of NC (my favorite camping) this June.
the rest of the summer at least 2x a month will be OHIO and PA trips. in the state parks.
