Title: Propane Gas Tank
Post by: Johnna on Mar 28, 2009, 03:37 PM
This is kind of a dumb question...we have a used new to us pop up we haven't used yet, our first trip is Easter weekend. I swear the propane tank on it looks smaller than the ones you see at the store (where you swap out an empty tank for a full tank). Could this be possible?

Maybe, they make 5, 10, 20 and 30 lb along with a host of others.

If it looks similar to a 20 pound tank, it probably is.  The smaller tanks are much smaller.

The propane pressure vessel should have a collar.
Somewhere on the collar should be stamped "WC" (water capacity) followed by numbers like 47.6. Multiply the WC numbers by .42 to determine the amount of propane that is allow to be inside. For instance a WC of 47.6 lbs X .42 = 19.992 or 20 lbs!
