I bought one of those three piece fireplace sets at a garage sale a few weeks ago (poker, broom, shovel, stand). I ditched the stand and put the other three pieces under my kitchen seat. The broom works great in the camper for cleaning under the table and in all the compact places. The shovel works as a dust pan and is really great for shoveling hot coals on top of the Dutch oven. The poker has one of those pike pole ends and is nice for moving larger logs around in the fire pit, it also sticks in the ground quite nicely next to your chair.
I see these really often at yard sales for under 5 bucks. I paid a buck for mine. My 3 year old really loves using the child size broom, I think she swept the floor 5 or 6 times each day, Well worth the piece of candy every time.

I bought the same thing for our pup..my husband said we dont need that we dont even have a fire place...now he can't do w/o camping ..lol
I kinda thought the fireplace set was a bit "Fancy boy" but once I used it I found it worth taking up space.
I happen to like lots of the old timey camping gear and love finding great deals at garage sales for a few bucks. I've found 90% of my camping gear is pre owned or passed down which makes it really cool. I tend to keep my favorite frying pans, Knives, glassware, etc. in my htt. I have a feeling I'm not alone.
What a great idea! I'm getting one!
We have a great swapmeet here every Sunday morning, and I never miss it.
That is a good idea I'll use the one that I have collecting dust in the basement, but really hate the idea of having to pack something else.
what a great idea, any ideas how a Florida camper might come across an item like this. you don't see them at garage sale down here.

EBay or get a friend in another state to pick one up for you......maybe?
Great idea. I never thought of that before.
A great item to have in addition to the set that you already have is a set of fireplace "tongs" for grabbing and re-positioning the logs whilst on the fire. A bit more precise than the standard "poker".
Happy Camping!!
The 'CODger
I've never seen CAPed CODger at a campfire at any of the ralleys without his tongs.
And he now has "Gold Ones" that I found at a yard sale and has been "officially" crowned "King of the Fire Ring" by our group. LOL
