Title: Cleaning the interior canvas on a Viking
Post by: ike1450 on May 28, 2009, 05:57 PM
I've e-mailed Viking, but haven't had a response yet in regards on how to clean the inside of the vinyl canvas.  The interior is more like a "fuzzy" type of fabric.  I'm afraid to use anything that might ruin it. Anyone have a Viking that has any suggestions?  Thanks.

My 2002 Viking has received a few inside stains from us and I have used Dawn dish soap for grease stains with a sponge and blotted it. Don't rub too much or the fuzzy part will pill. I spilt red wine on the tenting behind the sink and was able to get it out with just the Dawn soap and sponge. I have also heard Oxyclean will work well. Just make sure you rinse well and dry. Here in AZ the drying part is a snap. You may want to try a microfiber cloth instead of the sponge would be less wet if you are in a more humid clmate.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mary.  I will try the Dawn & Oxiclean.  I'm not sure if it's really stained, but looks it a little discolored when I look at the canvas when I lay on the bunk. It doesn't appear to be stained on the exterior, so it must be inside.
