heres a dumb question:
My tires read 50 psi "COLD" what exactly does that mean???

I don't know they could read "cold", but let us suppose you put an air pressure guage to your tire and it read 50 psi (pounds per square inch), it would mean that's the air pressure inside the tire regardless if the tire was hot or cold. Now, that being said, if your tire called for 50 psi you would want to fill it/check it, when the tire is cold. Because when it gets warm the air pressure will increase when it becomes warmer.

Did that make any sense ...?

that your tire pressure reading should be at 50 psi before you start down the road. When the tires are rolling down the road they heat up and the PSI usually goes up, so they want you to check the psi before heating up.

Cold conditions are defined as early in the morning before the day's ambient temperature, sun's radiant heat or the heat generated while driving have caused the tire pressure to temporarily increase.

Those tires maximum load rating requires 50 psi "cold".

There has to be a lite side to live too..........;)

I think about as far East that will will be going might be Nevada or Arizona.....I get too far away from the ocean and I start to get nervous.....:morning: Thanks for the invite though...:!

Cold typically means, driven less than 3 miles within the last two hours. That being said, tire sidewall pressure may not be what you want in the tire. Your owners manual may tell you another value that is different (less than) tire sidewall pressure

I would'nt give the time of day to what the owner's manual says about tire pressure.

Tire manufacturer's don't make RV's and RV maunufacturer's don't make tires.

With ST tires ... go with what it says on the tire.
