Title: PopUp Times forum Down
Post by: dno on Jun 08, 2009, 07:39 PM
For those having a hard time getting to the forum, I'm sorry. I had been moving things to my new server and I had turned off the site while I did that to prevent lost threads. It's a question of which is worse, lost use of the site or lost posts once the data is moved.

When I previewed the site before the domain was pointing to the new server all looked fine. I found a dns entry error which caused the site to point to the wrong IP address. I have been looking at the site in Google Chrome and it seemed fine that way so never really noticed the site was down until I go a PM about it on PUX. I think tried the other browsers and sure enough I could not get to the PopUp Times Forum.

I'm not sure why I can access through chrome, but only if I use PopUp Times Forum not if I use //www.popuptimesmagazine.com/forum

I'm sorry about all the lost time... In the middle of trying to move things I also had internet connection interuption issues since thursday but those seem to be resolved now.

What was strange is I could access forum using google chrome but only if I used PopUp Times Forum, but not www.popuptimesmagazine.com/forum (//%22http://www.popuptimesmagazine.com/forum%22). I could not access if I used IE or Firefox, I didn't try Safari or Opra. And this was during the time it was pointing to the wrong IP address. I think that is why I didn't realize PopUp Times forum was not working.

I need a username and password to login to the control panel at
http://www.popuptimes.com/ (//%22http://www.popuptimes.com/%22), then i'd be able to upload a something differnt than the generic

"You see this page because you have set up your Web server for serving a new site, but have not uploaded the site content yet."

:eyecrazy: :compumad: :yikes: :D

I'm not sure how everything was done before but popuptimesmagazine.com/forum and popuptimes.com are run as seperate web sites. Was there a logon section on Popup times to upload stuff?

well I'm sure everyone survived and nothing earth shattering transpired.

Duh..I didn't think to contact you thru PUX, actually I thought you were still moving stuff and having issues and knew the site was down..oh well

I know when all is finished it will work better than ever...

Thanks dno for all your efforts

Are you saying the popuptimes.com web site won't load, I can see it from my end. Is anyone else having problems?

it is loading now. A few minutes ago I was getting a generic page that was saying to load content to your server. Plesk control screen I think it said.

That' what I suggested, I made it via PUT this time.

how odd, unlike arveeclub which was loaded in chrome all day and I could see it that way just fine, I have been in and out of the PUT website over the past couple days through IE.

If anyone sees that the site is not working, it's a good idea to pop me an email. I would rather 1000 people tell me than to have everyone assumbe I already know and notboy day anything.

It sounds like whatever the problem was with PUT may have resolved itself, or let's hope.

Thanks

Hey Dno
I just noticed that when I receive a PM, that I am not getting an email telling me that I have one waiting. Is this part of the new software ?

Thanks for all your hard work on PUT :eyecrazy:

have you rechecked your settings? I have that option turned off on mine since I have the option to have a window popup when I enter the forum.

I didn't have your email address, I doubt many did and seeing that we couldn't get in, we couldn't get your address.

I have it now: support@arveeclub.com

You'll hear from me if it goes down again.....:D
