Title: water pressure regulator
Post by: genre on Jun 14, 2009, 12:10 PM
Hey folks:
My water pressure regulator has a release hole and when connected to water supply, I get a waterfall all around the trailer. Is this normal? Does anyone know of a model that does not have this release hole?
    Thanks

doesnt sound normal, is the water regulator hooked up at the spigot?  the only thing that you should hook to the city water inlet is the hose.  make sure you have the little rubber gaskets at all hose connections.  Others will chime in with more experience than I, but this is my best answer, hope it helps.

The hole you have described is there to let you know when the diaphram in the regulator has failed and your trailer plumbing is no longer protected from excessive pressure. Not all regulators have them, but I have had one like that and found out the hard way. Just replace it with a new one.

Thanks for the info. I'll replace it but it was brand new, just took it out of package. I'll get an all metal one.
     Thanks again
