Post by: BadAss88GT on Jul 27, 2009, 02:20 AM

Used the Zodi first for a couple of trips then switched to the Coleman. The Zodi had some problems and it turned out to be defective so I cannot give a review on the Zodi. Coleman Hot water on demand has been an excelllent camp appliance. I have a friend who has a hot water tank on their popup and just use the Coleman instead.

:-()I have had the Coleman for over a year and really like it- Just make sure that you charge it after each trip- You can hook it up to a large propane tank- but I found this to be just one more big tank- I use a small bottle and it last for a long time- I wished that I would have had it 20 years ago- I hate boiling water.

I have an ecco temp water heater/shower and love it.  you need a water supply though, it has no pump.   works great off a 20 lb. tank and uses batteries to power the ignitor.  Turns on and off with the flow of water.

Never used the Zodi but *love* the Coleman HWOD system.  We just use a small propane bottle as it's easier and it lasts forever anyway.  Just need to charge it up before you go and it lasts forever too.

We use an aquatainer and just put the end of the pump in that, just fits thru the opening.

It's awesome for hot water to wash dishes or even just washing your hands.  And when dry camping you can use it for a shower with the spray adapter.  Highly recommend it.

have used my coleman for 6 years now.  i only have to charge it once or maybe twice a season (25 nights).  same with the 1 lb propane - no need for a large bottle.

i use mine in the camper.  we always have plenty of ventilation.  I bought the garden hose adpater and connected it to the pressure side of our camper's fresh water system.  works great.  never use the 5 gallon jug anymore.
