Title: Camping Journal
Post by: garym053 on Aug 03, 2009, 04:06 PM
Greetings!

Does anyone have a template set up on M/S Word or M/S Publisher that they use for a Camp Journal? I have one but I'm not overly fond of it. It would be nice to see samples of what others are doing, perhaps it would inspire me to change mine!!

If you'd prefer not to publically post, feel free to email me directly: garym053@kingcon.com

Thanks!

Never used the computer for mine.  I have a plain old composition book that I use a pencil to write in.  It never crashes, and is readable without a power source!

Same here I also can add my pictures and other things to the book and our Grandkids love to pick it up and have a  hands on look at it.....

Thanks.

I print the pictures with mine. If I print everything on the color printer I can insert the pictures in among the text. Usually I print the pictures on a collage page(s) and have the journal and costs page printed and bound before and after it.

I guess I'll just tweak the questions that I pulled from the handwritten journal that I used for a while.

here's what we do...

1) we take loads of pictures, including pics of our food. :D  i log into walmart  dot com in the photo section, and i add photos there, and make a college'  print , 8x10 of some of the photos.  pick a border color,  add a title to the bottom that says "Brackenridge  Edna, TX  July 30 - August 2, 2009"   i state where we are. and i put that in a sheet protector in a 1/3 in three ring binder.   i have a 8x10 college for each camp out.

2) all photos are loaded in a cd by themselves.  my husband prints a label for the cd,  with a photo to match the college pic.  this way i am not printing a bunch of  camp photos.  i can always go back and look at them there.

3)  i bought a bound thinck blank page book.  kaleidscope  book.  rules are,  everyone who was at the camp out has to hand write their experience in it. good or bad.   i have a thing about hand writings. it adds a warmth to it. (imagine your gramma's hand written recipes)  and with kids you see the difference in their penmanship over time.  so you journal the trip,  you cannot  CANNOT read what was written before you on that trip.  that way it is not duplicated.  it's nice to have.   i know the kids will argue over that book one day when they are grown and we are gone.  it's a beautiful memory.
i'll take a a pic and post it.
(( i haven't grown into  trusting a computer yet with my memories and such))
