Have been considering an axel flip on my 2009 Bayside. Bent my rear bumper badly on this summer's trip when I had to cross a creek:eyecrazy:. An axel flip would have prevented this, but is fairly involved and expensive. Anyone tried skid wheels on rear bumper frame? Interested in your thoughts, pro and con.
Thanks.
I have heard of people doing this, but I would not.
Skid wheels on the bumper, when they make contact with the ground, end up essentially lifting the pop-up at a point that the designers did not intend. In addition, it is a dynamic lift, meaning there can be a lot more force than just the weight of the pop-up being applied.
