Since getting my popup this year I have had to cancel three camping trips due to court. Been scheduled to testify as a witness usually on a thursday or friday and it gets postponed. Between work (firefighter), court and now school little difficult to get out. Usually camp every three weeks, I have had four week long trips in my popup.
I've had to cancel a few trips in the past few years too. Nothing's worse than planning an excellent vacation and getting the whole family excited only to have to cancel.
We also just bought a pop-up this year and are looking forward to our first trip in it over the holiday weekend. Next year we'll plan a few longer trips.
It stinks to have to cancel (as well as costing money). I've been blessed so far that we haven't had to cancel due to illness or vehicle failure (though according to statistical odds I'm WAY OVERDUE); the reason that we've canceled is due to weather. We usually camp at the Delaware shore and August-October is the height of hurricane season for that area. It's very disappointing to have to cancel something you've looked forward to; I think the mental cost is worse than the monetary.
