Hey, sorry for always posting questions and never offering any answers-- maybe after a couple more trips, I'll have some advice to share!
Does anyone know whether I should put any grease on part of the cable that wraps around the spool? There seems to be a lot of friction and I can see some wear on the cable.
Besides putting grease in the hubs, are there any other areas I should be applying grease? The owner's manual doesn't mention any.
You don't want grease on the winch or cables. It'll get full of all the grime and sand on the surface of roads and basically destroy the assembly. Refer to your 2008 Starcraft owner's manual for recommendations on how to lube and maintain their lift system. Generally, silicone spray lubricant is all that's advised.
