Had to get the Alpine registered in my home state of Texas.
This involved getting a certified weight (Cat Scale @Love's truck stop), then getting a "green sheet" and inspection from the local McClains RV. Now have to take this documentation to the county for registration and permanent plates.
The above was a minor inconvenience when considering the cost savings realized from the out of state purchase. A local dealer would have taken care of the paperwork if I had purchased it here.
What was suprising was the Alpine tipped the scales at 1820 lbs. I was under the impression it was about 1400 lbs.
Only thing I can see adding to the weight is the heat pump A/C, two full propane bottles, battery and the Trail Boss option.
Regardless, it pulls effortlessly with the manual geared Sorento. The 07 Silverado has no problem, but the Kia will get a few more MPG.
